These 2 matching cabinets were given to me by a friend who was emptying out their dad’s house. They were very dusty and covered in cobwebs – not surprising when the house has been unlived in for 9 months.
I knew I didn’t want to keep them and so decided to upcycle them in colours that I thought would sell easily.
The usual preparation was done – sugar soap and then sanded the wood that I was going to paint.
Frenchic Blackjack was applied in 2 coats, then on the top I also added a clear varnish. I also painted the wicker with the clear varnish.
Then I painted the wooden feet with 2 coats of acrylic gold and 1 coat of varnish.
The drawers I lined with a self adhesive wallpaper, which is waterproof.
Done and dusted – 3 days work and added to FB Marketplace.
