I bought a little bench from an antiques shop – it looked so sad stood there alone, all rusty and chipped; so , I decided to rescue it.
First, was to wash the the dust and cobwebs from it. Then wiped down with Sugar Soap. Before taking a rough sander to it and getting off as much as possible of the rust.
I painted the bench firstly in a pale coloured Frenchic Al Fresco and decided I wanted something with more colour. Next followed 3 coats of Frenchic Al Fresco in Plum Pudding.
To finish off I used a gold enamel paint on the feet, the heart on the seat and the back rests.
Before putting it outside it was left to cure for 3 weeks in my dinning room.
