My hobby of recycling old furniture started when I lost my Dad, Eric Turton. He had always made wooden things in his shed, doll houses, spice racks, coffee tables, bookcases etc.  When he died I was left with a house of things that I couldn’t bear to see go to the skip, so what could I do to save these items and make them beautiful to people of today?

I started small.

My first item was a sewing box my dad made for my mom in 1953.

No more dark brown wood, it is now a delicate powder pink and silver. Enhanced with a rose decal on the inside and wooden rose on the top of the plain lid.

An obsession was born from this one item and my quest to transform other piece of his furniture spurred me on.
